A great place to shop and eat, its right beside the train station. Has all the small shops for your goodies or treats. The fashion labels available are what you see in Japanese magazines. The food are varied and there something here for everyone.
Plenty of fashion shops, restaurants n cafes.. good to escape the cold in winter, heat in summer , rainy days...
Easy to navigate. Lots of shops. Good food
Great underground mall next to the train station. The conveyor belt sushi place we found here was pricy but ridiculously tasty and high quality. They had a pop-up Marvel store at the time, which was fun.
Surprisingly wide choice for food and clothes. Restaurant open at 11:00
Great spot door shopping but directions for foreigners can improve
Staff are tired of tourist asking for mochi samples. When I asked they pretend not to understand me in English and kept it away while smiling, after which spoke english to the next white couple. Better go to Kyoto tower, their service and food is way much better.
Good place for shopping and get some food.. Near by bus, and subway station
A massive underground shopping space spreads under Tokyo station and the surrounding area. Portable is part of this. "Portable Dining" has many small restaurants most of which are basic.
Porta has everything. Nice and clean. Like the toilet design, the shape of bamboo gave your bigger space and refreshing feeling.
Kyoto Station is amazing for shopping and food. Porta is easy to navigate, plenty of restaurant options, great clothing and beauty stores for females. I’m not from Japan, so the staff in the stores - like all Japanese people - are beautiful and helpful and extremely polite and welcoming. Loved my few days in Kyoto Station and Porta shopping, eating and enjoying my holiday. Thankyou.
Nice, cosy and not too crowded despite being in the vicinity of the train station
We didn't have time to do much shopping but we went through here as it was right through the station. Had so many shops and so many pathways. It was pretty confusing to find our way. But since it went through so many nice shops loved it.They also have an entire side with food stalls.they do have good food and we tried about two of the restaurants where both had great food.
good place
Smoking is available at Doutor Cafe. Free WiFi is available but week signal.
Nice shops and foods, clean area but I think it's mostly for the tourists only. Not special for Japanese people.
Lots of food. A bit on the pricey side.
Great place
This place is massive great food selection
Guys, there is no point in going for clothes shopping here, it's all for the ladies. Same goes for the cube which is another close underground mall. There is a good choice of resteraunts however and a few cafes here for drinks and snacks. Several of which are good. No provision for smokers, you need to go above ground and use one of the dreadful smoking booths. There are a few other shops such as drug store and book shop. Personally I use Porta as a way to move around when it's raining.
A lot of good resto....one of them that we try is Sir Lipton and Tonkotsu Ramen...
complete nice place inside the kyoto station. you can get gifts foods and others here
This is not a must visit unless you are just passing by this place to the hotel/train station. There are 3 places open for breakfast (before 9am).
Decent amount of restaurants if you're hungry. Shops are plenty. There is a lot of space to walk around with ease. Good place to cool down if you're visiting Kyoto during the hot season.
A very broad variety of shops and restaurants. It's worthwhile having a look. The restaurants are all in a perfect state, however, for me a little too perfect and systematic.I'll be looking for a restaurant which seems to be more "rustic".
Shopping mall at Kyoto station basement level. Many stylish clothing stores and a great variety of restaurants ands cafes. Does not look very cheap, but there are many reasonably priced lunch places. Easy to get lost!
Below the Kyoto line. lots of food choices including a popular sushi and ramen outlet. Reasonably priced. expect waiting time for the sushi...
Sushi train was good, but a little care was not there
This place is great. There are so many shops and food options. There are also a lot of places to rest. It links to the subway. There are a lot of bread shops and a Japanese supermart right outside the subway entrance, so it's great when you just want to buy some breakfast on the go or you want to buy back some food.
many options of food.also have many interesting shops.
Good selection on the food court but it was crowded.
Great spot to taste differt types of Japanese food!
For foreigners unused to larger scale stations, its like a mall except more intense, be prepared for noise and bustle. Lots of pedestrain traffic so be careful. Lots of shops and plenty of places to eat.
Love the ramen
Awesome place as well for malling.
Great shopping mall for all wallets
Delucious and convenient
A shopping mall near the Kyoto Station and bus terminal. Strategically located and very convenient for the visitors, especially foreigners. Providing shopping experience with various choices of dining restaurants, snacks and bars. It's a nice place for spending time while waiting for your bus or train departure. There are free seats for visitors so you don't have to enter a restaurant or bar for sitting.
A classic underground mall in Japanese style. Has a bit of everything, but it's food options stand out.
Soooooooo delicious, will-made. Tomato salad is a must try.
A nice shopping mall with a little bit higher class stores to be able to visit. Due to that the prices do seem a little bit higher, however, there are some stands and stores that have prices that are well within reach of a tourist.
great variety at Kyoto station. aircondition shops. not much English spoken but I can shop in any language
So many delicious food stores. Easy to get lost.
Very crowded. Please detour if you are with large luggage
Too big link shopping and transport mall
But the kimchi is good
Pretty good shopping place with a large amount of restaurants and stores. It's connected directly to Kyoto station and all of the train lines leading to it.
A good place for eating cos large variety and value for money compared to the nearby Isetan.
Literally underground maze filled with shops.
There’s a wide range of shops and restaurants which were all wheelchair accessible, which was fantastic. Dined here several times and never felt disappointed by the choices offered.
